The famous 100 m red dune (Al Hamar) on the Dubai–Hatta highway (E44), 50 min from central Dubai. The emirate's go-to amateur off-road spot: ATV/UTV and buggy rentals, sandboarding. Dozens of rental outlets line the road. The sand runs deep red from iron oxide.
Tips
Prices: ATV 30 min ~AED 150, buggy 30 min ~AED 250. Don't drive on sand without a 4×4 — you'll get stuck. Take a helmet and goggles (offered). Best after 16:00 (shade, less heat). Catch sunset on the dune on your way back.
