Narrow lanes next to the Gold Souk, stalls stacked with saffron, cardamom, sumac, dried lime (loomi), rose petals, nuts, dried fruit and frankincense and oud incense. The atmosphere of trading-era Dubai. Locals come for fresh spices; visitors for gifts and photos.

Tips

Bargain — opening prices double. Saffron runs AED 5/g (everyday) to AED 30/g (premium). Rose water and oud make great gifts. Pair with the Gold Souk and a creek crossing by abra (AED 1).
