What's special

  • ★Carpets, pottery and textiles
  • ★Local fruit, honey, dates and nuts
  • ★Open every day, not just Friday
  • ★A handy stop en route to the east coast

A market strung along the highway near the village of Masafi, on the Ras Al Khaimah-Fujairah border and on the route to the east coast. Despite the name it is open every day. Stalls sell carpets and textiles, clay pots and pottery, fruit and vegetables, honey, dates, nuts and souvenirs. Prices are negotiable, bargaining is expected, and payment is cash. A handy stop on the way to the sea or the mountains.

Tips

Despite the name, the market runs all week. Bring cash, cards are not accepted. Bargain calmly — the opening price is usually inflated.
