Dubai nightlife 2026: clubs, bars, rooftops
What's actually running, where the cult venues are, the rules, what it costs. No myths, no exaggerations.
The short version
Dubai's nightlife isn't Berlin or Bangkok, but it isn't "closed" either. Alcohol is legal in licensed bars and clubs. Dress code is smart elegant minimum everywhere. Close 02:00-03:00, Friday-Saturday till 04:00. No dedicated LGBT venues; dating apps partly blocked. Sex tourism is illegal and prosecuted, not a path.
Where to go
Clubs (cover 100-300 AED)
Soho Garden DIFC — flagship of the scene. Big outdoor area, international DJs, polarised crowd. Saturdays from 200 AED.
Cavalli Club (Fairmont Palm) — classic luxury, plush and crystal. Tables from 4 000 AED. Dress: smart evening.
Drai's Dubai (Meydan) — American brand, hip-hop/R&B. Big names have played — Travis Scott, Drake.
Mahiki Dubai (Pier 7) — Polynesian theme, till 02:00. Student/tourist crowd, average age 22-32.
Iris Dubai (Meydan) — rooftop with pool, best high-season open-air.
White Dubai (Meydan) — 1 500 capacity megaclub, EDM/house. October-April only.
Rooftop bars (150-400 AED minimum)
At.mosphere Lounge (Burj Khalifa 122nd) — 442 m above the city, premium cocktails 80-150 AED, cocktail dress code, booking required.
Lock Stock & Barrel (JBR) — American pub-rock, no cover, till 03:00 weekends. For "just drink", no flex.
The Penthouse (Five Palm Jumeirah) — pool club by day, rooftop bar by night. Miami vibe.
Cé La Vi (Address Sky View) — Asian cocktails + sushi + DJ at sunset. Cosmopolitan.
Q43 (Media One Hotel) — 43rd floor, best Marina night view. Not premium, not pricey.
Sky 2.0 (Dubai Design District) — new (summer 2025), best terrace view of Burj Khalifa.
Lounges and live music (no cover, 200-500 AED minimum)
Boa Steakhouse (Address Beach Resort) — went late-night lounge from steakhouse. DJ from 23:00.
Vault Lounge (JW Marriott Marquis) — 71st floor, R&B and soul.
Kazbar (Shangri-La Downtown) — Russian after-midnight, Russian crowd, balalaika and vodka till 04:00.
Tomo (Raffles Dubai) — 17th floor, sushi + sake + smooth jazz.
Rules
- Age: 21+ in any licensed venue, passport ID checked at the door always
- Dress: smart elegant minimum. Shorts, flip-flops, sportswear refused. Men: collared shirt + closed shoes
- Alcohol in public: banned outside licensed venues. No street drinking, no beach (outside the hotel), no in-car
- Public intoxication: real risk of fine and/or a night in the station. Drink, Careem home, don't walk
- Drugs: zero tolerance. Minimum 4 years for hash. Don't even accept from a friend.
- LGBT scene: no dedicated venues; tolerance to non-flaunting couples is high. Tinder/Bumble work for everyone. Grindr blocked, VPN needed.
- Sex tourism: illegal, doesn't operate here. Don't try — deportation risk.
When to go
- Thursday and Friday (former weekend) — peak. Everything's on, crowds.
- Saturday (new weekend) — also busy.
- Mon-Wed — calmer, but DIFC and Palm still have atmosphere.
- Season: October-April for outdoor pool clubs and rooftops. May-September indoor only.
Cost per night
- Budget — 300-500 AED per couple (pub drinks + bus/metro)
- Mid — 800-1 500 AED (cover + 3-4 drinks + Careem)
- Premium — 3 000-8 000 AED (table service + champagne + lounge)
- VIP — 15 000+ AED (private booth + bottle service at White or Soho)
Reality check
- Alcohol pricier than Europe — beer 50-80 AED, cocktail 80-120 AED, restaurant wine bottle 350-800 AED
- 5 % tax + 10-12 % service on the bill, +15-17 % total
- Tips not mandatory but welcome
- Solo women at bars: fine, safe. No more risk than London or Berlin.
I'd skip
- Pier 7 "full nightclub experience" — overrated
- VII Dubai (former Iris) — closed 2025
- "Russian night" at any club — usually low-tier tourist trap
Tip: on NYE book a rooftop bar, not a club. Watching the Burj Khalifa midnight fireworks from above beats a dance floor.
If you'd like a club table or lounge booking for a specific date, send format and party size — we'll book it.
