Dubai's top 7 beaches in 2026: where it's actually comfortable
Free public beaches, hotel beach clubs, and hidden coves — which one fits which day and company.
The short version
Dubai has 20+ public beaches. All white sand and warm water year-round, but the vibe and service differ. Here's how to pick one for a chill afternoon, a sunset dinner, or a day with kids.
1. La Mer Beach — the most photogenic
A public beach in Jumeirah with bright murals, cafés, and kiosks. Sun loungers are free, showers and restrooms are clean. Great for a few hours with a promenade walk and lunch.
- Free entry, parking ~AED 10/hour
- Best time: morning or sunset
- Free beach Wi-Fi
2. Kite Beach — for active travellers
A long beach between Burj Al Arab and La Mer. Kitesurfing, paddle-board rentals, beach volleyball, food trucks. Music in the evenings, sports courts everywhere.
The best view of Burj Al Arab is from here. Sunset shots of the sail hotel — everyone takes them at Kite Beach.
3. JBR (The Beach) — leisure + dinner
Central resort beach next to JBR Walk. Dozens of restaurants with sea-view terraces, an open-air cinema on weekends, Marina lights at night. Convenient if you stay in Dubai Marina or JBR.
4. Sunset Beach — sunset with Burj Al Arab
Behind the five-star Sunset Beach Hotel. Fewer crowds than Kite, equally good views. Free showers, paid parking. In the evenings the beach turns into Dubai's only spot with real surf-able waves.
5. Jumeirah Public Beach — the classic
The oldest city beach, stretches for kilometres. Clean sand, calm sea, free loungers in several zones. Parking at each entrance. Ideal for families — shallow water near the shore.
6. Black Palace Beach — the secret
A wild beach between Madinat Jumeirah and Burj Al Arab. No loungers, no cafés — just white sand and silence. Entrance via a dirt road past construction sites, GPS is iffy. Bring water and a sunshade. The reward — Dubai's best private sunset.
7. Atlantis Aquaventure Beach — premium
A private beach at the five-star Atlantis The Palm. Access for guests only or via an Aquaventure day pass (from AED 350). Loungers, towels, pools, water park next door — kids' paradise.
A few rules
- Public beach swimwear — modest only. Topless or too-revealing bikinis are banned.
- Best season — March-May and October-November. In summer the water hits 33+ °C and walking on sand at midday is impossible.
- Alcohol and loud music in public are banned, fines up to AED 2000.
- Ramadan — no eating or drinking on the beach during daylight. Hotel beach clubs are quieter then.
