IMG Worlds of Adventure: A Guide to Dubai's Largest Indoor Park
Marvel, Cartoon Network and dinosaurs under one roof: rides, height limits, ticket guidance and how to get there.
IMG Worlds of Adventure is often called the largest indoor theme park in the world, and for families in Dubai it is an almost foolproof choice. The air conditioning runs year round, so neither the summer heat nor a rare winter shower will ruin your day. Inside you will find Marvel superheroes, beloved Cartoon Network characters, lifelike dinosaurs and some serious roller coasters. In this guide we break down the zones, height limits, an approximate budget and the easiest ways to get there.
What's inside: four worlds under one roof
The park is split into themed zones that are easy to move between without ever stepping outdoors.
- Marvel — rides inspired by the comics: the Avengers, Spider-Man and the Hulk. This zone has the most dynamic simulators and hero meet-and-greets.
- Cartoon Network — a world for younger kids: Adventure Time, the Powerpuff zone, gentle rides and interactive play.
- Lost Valley — a dinosaur valley with life-size animated figures and one of the park's headline coasters.
- IMG Boulevard — an indoor street with shops, cafes and a cinema, handy for a breather.
This layout lets you alternate between high-energy rides and calmer areas, which matters a lot when travelling with children of different ages.
Rides and coasters
Thrill seekers will gravitate to the larger roller coasters in the Marvel and Lost Valley zones, including high-speed and looping options. If extreme rides are not your thing, there are 3D simulators, dark rides and family attractions with gentler motion. The youngest visitors are best served by the Cartoon Network zone with its slow carousels and play areas.
Keep in mind that each ride posts its own height requirement at the entrance, so it helps to figure out in advance what your child can access.
Height limits
Exact figures vary from ride to ride, so treat the following as general guidance and always check the signs at each entrance.
- The bigger high-speed coasters usually require a height of roughly 120–130 cm.
- Mid-level family rides and simulators are often open from about 105–110 cm.
- The Cartoon Network zone and gentle carousels are designed for the smallest guests, frequently with an accompanying adult.
If your child is close to a borderline number, confirm the current requirements on the park's official website before your visit.
Tickets: a rough guide
Prices change, so it is not wise to quote them as fixed fact. As a rough guide, an adult entry ticket starts at around AED 345, but the real cost depends on the season, promotions and whether you buy online in advance. Family packages and discounted child tickets are common.
- Buy tickets online ahead of time; it is usually cheaper and faster at the gate.
- Check the current price, opening hours and seasonal offers on the official website.
- Confirm the policy for children below a certain height or age, as entry is sometimes free for them.
How much time to allow
For a full visit, plan a whole day, around 5–7 hours on average. That is enough to tackle the main coasters, see the dinosaurs and leave time for food and shopping. With small children, a calmer pace with breaks for rest and snacks is more realistic.
How to get there
The park sits in the City of Arabia area, beside Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road.
- Taxi or transfer — the simplest option. From Dubai Marina or Downtown the drive takes roughly 25–35 minutes without traffic.
- Car rental — the park has free parking, convenient for families with kids and strollers.
- Public transport — the metro does not reach the entrance directly, so you will still need a taxi from the nearest station.
If the park is part of a wider Emirates itinerary, it is easy to combine it with other activities. Browse our Dubai and Emirates tours or plan a separate day on the water with a yacht charter.
Practical tips
- Arrive at opening; mornings mean shorter queues for the popular coasters.
- Bring a light layer, as the air conditioning is strong indoors.
- Plan lunch ahead, since cafes get busy at midday.
- With young children, note in advance which rides suit their height.
Who it suits
IMG Worlds of Adventure works well for families with school-age children, Marvel fans and anyone who wants an active day regardless of the weather. If you are travelling with toddlers, also see our Dubai with kids guide and our overview of theme parks to choose the best route.
The main thing is not to try to fit everything into a couple of hours. Give it a full day, and the park will leave a great impression on guests of any age.
