Yas Island Abu Dhabi 2026: theme parks, racing and how to plan your day
Ferrari World, Yas Waterworld, Warner Bros, SeaWorld, the racing circuit and Yas Mall on one island. How to get there, what to choose and how to fit it into a day or two.
The short version
Yas Island is a man-made island in Abu Dhabi that gathers the country's headline family attractions: Ferrari World, Yas Waterworld, Warner Bros World, SeaWorld Yas Island, the Yas Marina Circuit and the huge Yas Mall. From Dubai the drive is about an hour and a half, and you can pair the island with the cultural side of Abu Dhabi. The main rule: in one day you realistically cover one big park, not three, so plan ahead.
How to get there
- From Dubai by car, about 1.5 hours along the E11, with free and easy parking at every park.
- By private transfer or a guided tour, we arrange the trip with a driver to match your group and timing.
- If you are already in Abu Dhabi, taxis and Careem reach the island in 20–30 minutes from the centre.
For families a private car or transfer is easier: the parks sit close together, but walking between them is a long way, especially in the heat.
The island's main parks
- Ferrari World, an indoor park under the famous red roof, home to Formula Rossa and dozens of rides. It suits both adult speed lovers and families, with zones for the youngest.
- Yas Waterworld, a water park with Emirati character, slides of every difficulty and toddler areas. Bring water shoes and sun protection.
- Warner Bros World, a fully indoor park with Batman, Scooby-Doo and cartoon worlds. Ideal on a hot day as it is air-conditioned throughout.
- SeaWorld Yas Island, a modern marine park with aquariums, shows and an educational focus on sea life.
The indoor parks are a lifesaver in summer when it is over 40 degrees outside. The water park, by contrast, is best in the milder months.
Racing, shopping and the evening
- Yas Marina Circuit, the home of the Formula 1 round. Outside race weekends it runs tours and driving programmes, where you can ride along or take the wheel of a sports car. Check schedules and formats on the official site.
- Yas Mall, one of the emirate's largest malls, with shops, a cinema and a food court. A handy place to wait out the midday heat and have lunch.
- In the evening it is pleasant to stroll the marina promenade past the yachts, and water lovers may like the idea of a separate yacht outing back in Dubai.
A one-day plan
- Leave Dubai early, aiming for park opening.
- One big park for the whole day: Ferrari World or Warner Bros World for thrills and cartoon worlds, Yas Waterworld for water.
- Lunch inside the park or at Yas Mall.
- Toward evening, a short walk by the marina and the drive back.
Do not try to combine two parks in a day, each genuinely takes 6–8 hours, and rushing ruins the experience.
A two-day plan
- Day 1: a theme park (Ferrari World or Warner Bros World) plus an evening at Yas Mall.
- Day 2: the Yas Waterworld water park or SeaWorld, with an optional Yas Marina Circuit tour.
For two days it makes sense to stay on the island or nearby so you do not lose time on the road.
Where to stay
The island itself has several hotels across price levels, from family-friendly to premium by the marina, many within walking distance of the parks. Options closer to the circuit suit motorsport fans. On a tighter budget you can base yourself in Abu Dhabi or even Dubai and visit for the day, but then build in the travel time.
Tickets, budget and tips
- Tickets are cheaper booked online in advance, and there are often combos across parks and multi-day passes; check current prices and opening hours on the official sites.
- As a rough guide, entry to a major park starts from around AED 295–375 per person, with figures changing by season.
- With children, bring water, hats and a change of clothes; indoor parks can feel cool from the air conditioning.
- The best time for the water park is the cooler months; the indoor parks work any day of the year.
The takeaway
Yas Island is a whole universe of entertainment in one place, and it works equally well as a day from Dubai or as a self-contained two-day mini-break. Pick one scenario, do not overload the plan, and send us your dates and group: we will arrange the transfer, tickets and a convenient hotel for your trip.
