Dubai in January 2026: weather, prices, what to do after New Year
The best month for weather plus rational prices after NYE. What's running, what isn't yet.

The short version
January is our favourite for travellers who want "December weather without the holiday premium". 20-25 °C in the day, rain rare, hotels 30-40 % cheaper than NYE rates, Dubai Shopping Festival in full swing. After Jan 6 prices drop further.
Weather
- Jan 1-7: 22-25 °C day, 14-18 °C night, humidity 60-70 %
- Jan 8-20: similar, slightly cooler, 20-24 °C
- Jan 21-31: first warm days, 22-26 °C
January is the coolest month. Gulf at 21-23 °C — fine for morning and midday swimming, evenings get chilly. Rain 2-3 days a month, usually a short downpour.
Prices
From Jan 6 hotels drop 20-40 % vs December rates. A Palm 5-star resort priced 4 500 AED at NYE goes for 2 800-3 200 mid-January. Flights are cheaper too, especially from Moscow.

- Desert safari — best time, cool sunset

What isn't peak
- JBR/La Mer beach swimming mid-day, water is cool, fine for a dip not for long swims
- Wild Wadi without heated pools, cold after 16:00
- Open-air restaurants without crowd-heaters, breezy evenings
January events
- Dubai Shopping Festival through Jan 28-29 (exact dates published in autumn)
- Dubai Marathon, usually mid-to-late January
- Coca-Cola Arena concerts — packed January schedule
- Art Dubai moved to March, January is quiet on art
What to book
- Hotels Jan 8-25, a month out — prices are fine but inventory tightens
- Yacht and At.mosphere dinners — 2 weeks out
- DDCR desert safari — a week out
- Helicopter tour — a week out
Tip: if your dates are flexible, target Jan 10-20. Stable weather, season-low prices, lots still on, and no post-holiday lull yet.
