New Year in Dubai 2027: fireworks, dinners and what to book early
Where to watch the famous Burj Khalifa fireworks, which venues to book, how to get around on the night, and why tables sell out months ahead.
The short version
New Year is one of Dubai's biggest celebrations: the light show and fireworks at Burj Khalifa in Downtown, displays at Atlantis, Bluewaters and Global Village, with weather around 20–24 °C by day. The golden rule is to book early: the best tables and hotels go two to three months ahead, and Downtown is closed to traffic on the night.
Where to watch the fireworks
- Downtown, Burj Khalifa and Dubai Fountain, the most spectacular light show. Free spots in Burj Park and along the lake fill up well in advance.
- Atlantis The Palm and Palm Jumeirah, a separate display, beautiful from the Bluewaters side.
- Bluewaters and , fireworks on the observation wheel.
- Global Village, a family format with a display, cheaper and calmer than the centre.
How to celebrate: formats
- Dinner with a Burj Khalifa view in Downtown restaurants, premium pricing, booked months ahead.
- A hotel gala dinner on the Palm or in the Marina, a package with food and drinks.
- A New Year's Eve , fireworks from the water without the crowd, we to your group.
- A with dinner, a calm alternative away from the centre.
Tip: if you want to see the Burj Khalifa fireworks for free, arrive in Downtown early, by 6–7 pm, and plan for a slow exit, the metro runs later than usual on this night.
Transport on the night
Downtown is closed to cars, car parks are full, and taxis and get pricey and stuck in traffic. The best option is the metro: it runs later on New Year's Eve, and Burj Khalifa or is the closest station to the show. Allow time to leave, the platforms are very busy after midnight.
Prices and bookings
December is peak season, hotels are 30–50% above the yearly average, and the night itself runs festive packages with a minimum spend. Dubai Shopping Festival runs in parallel with discounts and entertainment. Tables and hotels are best secured two to three months ahead.
Things to note
- Evenings are cooler, 15–18 °C, bring a light jacket.
- Alcohol is served only in licensed venues, not on the street.
- With children, Global Village or an early dinner with a view is easier than the late crowd downtown.
